A search where the user gets their answer without clicking any result.
A zero-click search is one where the user finds their answer directly on the search results page — from an AI Overview, knowledge panel, featured snippet, or direct answer — without clicking through to any website.
Zero-click searches have grown from roughly 50% of queries in 2019 to 65% in 2025. AI Overviews are the primary driver. For publishers, the response is to become a cited source within the zero-click experience.
