Canonical URL
The preferred URL for a page when multiple versions exist.
A canonical URL is the authoritative version of a page, declared via <link rel="canonical">. It tells search engines and AI systems which URL to index and credit when the same content appears under multiple URLs.
Canonical URLs prevent duplicate-content dilution and ensure that citations accumulate on a single authoritative page.
