Authority
A page or domain's overall credibility, measured by backlinks and citations.
Authority refers to how trustworthy and credible a domain or page appears to search engines. It's commonly measured by backlink-based metrics (Domain Rating from Ahrefs, Domain Authority from Moz) and, increasingly, by AI citation frequency.
High-authority domains are cited disproportionately in AI answers. Building authority is slow but the most durable AEO investment.
